  [Carmen Brucic]

*1972, Tyrol, Austria
lives in Vienna and Berlin, artist

Carmen Brucic is a multidisciplinary artist whose work deals mainly with nostalgia, love and fragilty. In correspondence with these themes, the spectator is seduced by the intimacy of the pieces and their confessional qualities, which annul the perceptive barriers between spectator and artworks, similarly as happens with the being in love state.

Carmen Brucic graduated in 1997 with an MA degree at the University of Applied Art and the Academy of Fine Arts in Viena. She worked for seven years in the field of theatre. Since 2001 she has worked internationally as a theatre director. In 2007 she had her first solo exhibition titled Symmetries of Departure at the Charim Galerie, Vienna, in collaboration with Galerķa Hilario Galguera, Mexico City.

Among her work can be mentioned LOVEPANGS: The Lovesick Society, Hartenpjincongres; Schmerz Capitale; Transformatore Bolecine and has been shown in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Slovenia and Mexico.
